Kiev-Vienna-Prague-Frankfurt line

As part of its effort to make its IP trunk network more reliable, RETN has added an extra Kiev-Vienna-Prague-Frankfurt line to its existing Kiev-Frankfurt channel, improving the aggregate traffic capacity of the channels to 5 Gbps. As well as enlarging the RETN traffic band between the Ukraine and Western Europe, connection via two independent routes means much more reliable network operation and better direct connectivity between RETN clients among Ukrainian operators, and the European Web-sector. RETN plans to upgrade its Kiev IP-hub in June 2008, making access easier for Ukrainian operators and Kiev-based providers. According to RETN Sales Director Vladimir Taran, IP-port rental rates will not go up in Kiev despite the launch of the backup system, which has upped transit traffic costs.
