Pan-European DWDM upgrade

RETN has upgraded the equipment units of its pan-European DWDM ring in order to increase network bandwidth. Now, in the southern part of the  ring the end-to-end Russia-Europe bandwidth is 300 Gbps, and in the north — 500 Gbps. More than half of this band is involved in the transmission of Internet traffic in its own RETN IP network.


DWDM Voronezh — Kamesk-Shaktinsky — Rostov-on-Don

RETN has extended its DWDM network into South of Russia and has started testing a new part of the network Voronezh — Kamesk-Shaktinsky — Rostov-on-Don. The capacity of the deployed Infinera equipment – 100 Gbps (10×10 GE) for a start. New points of access are organised in Kamesk-Shaktinsky (1 Retranslyatsyonnaya str) and Rostov-on-Don (54, Myasnikova str.). The length of the new DWDM line is 705 km.
